From rivers winding through towns and countryside, to the sea on the South coast
Tonbridge (River Medway)
The river Medway provides the perfect setting to unwind, relax and enjoy the Kent countryside. It is a haven for wildlife teaming with dragonflies, butterflies and wild flowers.
There is a pay & display car park and a park and public toilets nearby, with plenty of cafes and eating places too.
Bodiam (River Rother)
Located an arrows shot from Bodiam Castle, the beautiful river Rother twists and turns through the reed beds. There are plenty of areas to relax and enjoy a picnic by the river in the beautiful countryside among plenty of dragonflies and damselflies.
There is free parking, with food and drink available from The Hub onsite.
We launch from the beach opposite the White Rock Hotel. It is a fantastic location overlooking the sea front and next to newly refurbished Hastings pier. On a clear day you can see over to France and have a calm paddle along the sea front or when the surf is in, you can play on the waves. You may even see a seal or two!
There is pay and display parking, changing rooms available onsite and toilet facilities in the hotel. Food and drink is available at The White Rock hotel or at plenty of the facilities along the sea front.
Wittersham (River Rother)
Surrounded by beautiful countryside you’ll see plenty of wildlife, cows by the side of the river and maybe even a kingfisher or two.
There is parking and a grass area where you can relax and have a picnic.
We use the wide, calm river here as a back up location for when the sea at Hastings is too choppy for beginners or to run our skill development Progression Sessions and group activities.
