Come and join us to discover the Kingsbridge river estuary and coastline of beautiful South Devon via paddleboard or kayak Over this 5 day adventure we will pick from a wide range of stunning coastal paddles to secluded beaches and around famous iconic landmarks that best suit the interests of the group and the paddling conditions. The paddles will all be suitable for paddle boarders and kayakers.
Accommodation includes a simple breakfast and tea/coffee to set you up for the day and a hot tub and garden for post sup relaxation. Evenings can be spent self catering, perhaps with a BBQ and relaxing at the accommodation, reviewing the day’s paddling! As a group we’ll checking the next day’s forecast to plan the logistics for the next day’s adventures. There is also the option to explore the local area for food and refreshments in the evenings.
Your South Devon Adventure: the cost is £495 and includes
Accommodation:
- Enjoy a comfortable self-catering stay near the stunning South Devon coastline.
- Relax and unwind in the on-site hot tub and garden after a day of paddling.
- Fuel for Your Adventures: a simple breakfast is provided each morning to get you ready for the day's activities.
Five days of paddling: Open to both paddleboarders or kayakers
- If the weather allows we will fit in a paddle en-route to our accommodation in South Devon and also a local sea paddle before heading back home.
- Each evening, as a group and guided by an expert paddle touring guide, we will choose our paddling adventure for the next day and plan the logistics.
Sample program: (subject to group preferences and paddling conditions)
Monday - drive down to Devon. En-route stop and paddle the iconic sea arch of Durdle Door before continuing on to our accommodation, settling in and then out for a pub dinner.
Tuesday - paddle down the Kingsbridge river estuary past the beautiful sea port of Salcombe out into bay to discover secluded beaches and sea caves. Self catering/BBQ option for this evening
Wednesday - we have the unique opportunity join up with Starboard on the stunning bay of Blackpool Sands to play around on the sea with a variety of their different race, touring and surf boards, both hardboards and inflatables. Blackpool Sands has lovely beachside facilities then back to the hot tub and bbq in the garden.
Thursday - set off from Mothercombe river estuary and along the coastline, rock hopping, discovering hidden beaches and a waterfall only accessible from a small craft. Paddling up to and around the world famous Burgh Island with its 1930 Art Deco hotel where Agatha Christie made her second home surrounded by one of South Devon’s best surf beaches. Many films have featured in this stunning location and guests arrive and depart via a unique sea tractor! Back to the accommodation for a relaxing hot tub and then out for dinner at a local pub.
Friday - a local beach paddle before driving home.
Essentials:
* You must provide your own equipment: paddle board or kayak, paddle, wetsuit, footwear, buoyancy aid, your preferred type of leash, dry bag for layers and food/refreshments, suncream etc. If you have any questions or need to hire please let us know.
* Lunch and dinner are not included; the accommodation will have self-catering facilities or we can explore the local area for meals and refreshments.
Important Notes:
* Travel to and from South Devon is not included.
* Transportation between paddle locations is not included; you will need your own vehicle, however we will share transport as much as possible.
* This trip is for paddlers with some day paddling experience in sea conditions up to force 3-4 (choppy) who are self-sufficient on the water and able to self-rescue.
