British Canoeing Sup Safety Course

The British Canoeing Sup Safety course is ideal for anyone with their own board, beginners, or anyone relatively novice to paddleboarding.

The four hour course will take place in a sheltered water environment and will cover sup equipment & clothing, environment & weather, planning and safety on the water all in a fun, friendly and engaging way.

With small groups of 6 -8 on the course, this is a great way to gain knowledge about paddling and safety.

SUP Instructor Course

Looking to become a Stand Up Paddleboard Instructor?This two-day SUP Instructor course is accredited by the British Canoeing Awarding Body and is delivered through a combination of training and assessment.Over the two days, we will cover:

  • Personal paddling skills 
  • Rescue skills 
  • Group management and behaviours 
  • How to run safe, fun, and effective SUP sessions 

The course is designed for instructors working in very sheltered water environments and provides the foundation needed to begin instructing SUP confidently.

Paddler Safer Course

The Paddler Safer Course gives new and novice paddlers the opportunity to develop essential safety skills and confidence when taking to the water.

This Go Paddling Paddle Safer course is designed for anyone who is new to paddling, or relatively inexperienced, and wants to improve their knowledge and awareness of paddling safely in a sheltered water environment, using the craft they paddle.

Course: 2 hours

The course covers four key modules:

  • Equipment – choosing and using the right kit
  • Environmental Factors – understanding conditions and hazards
  • Planning – making informed decisions before you paddle
  • Rescues – practical solutions if you get into difficulty

The course considers where you paddle, the equipment you use, and provides hands-on, practical guidance to help you paddle more safely and confidently.

The course is ideal for novice and beginner paddlers, great confidence builder before paddling independently and suitable for individuals or small groups.
